Sylvia E. Smith is a Manager at Highmark, Inc.  She has over thirty years of experience in the healthcare industry with an extensive background in contract analysis and development, compliance and regulation, process improvement, and project coordination and management. Her core skill sets revolve around building collaborative relationships, process improvement, project management and planning, training and development, and problem-solving. 

Sylvia is a graduate of Carlow University with degrees in Master of Science in Professional Leadership with a concentration in Training and Development and a Bachelor of Science in Information Management.  In May 2021, she obtained a graduate certificate in Business Administration and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Walden University.  She is also certified as a  Six-Sigma green belt Consultant.

Sylvia is a passionate and dedicated volunteer.  She is highly active in volunteering within the Pittsburgh Community and a strong advocate for paying it forward. Volunteering and giving back to the community has enabled Sylvia to help improve the quality of life for women and children. In 2015, Sylvia was a nominee for the Jefferson Award for my commitment to community service.  In 2017, Sylvia began serving as the Board Chair for H.O.P.E. for Tomorrow, Inc.  Sylvia is also an active participant on the Foster Grandparent Program Advisory Board Committee.
